AMONG THE WORKS OF THE MASTERS

Picture it, it’s a rainy Sunday and you are in a mood for your favorite cup of coffee and a peaceful afternoon of looking at art. For as long as I can remember, museums have been my happy places. Looking through the window of time and traveling to ancient empires, courts of kings, and small countryside residence of a painter from 1800s Italy. So let us start this series by introducing what I love the most of our home museums, in Toronto. 

AGO 

The art gallery of Ontario is not quite your cozy local little art gallery but it sure is surrounded by them; along with local cafés and just a bit aside from the heart of Toronto, the Dundas square. But what draws me every time is not only their breathtaking collections of national and international art but the beautiful architecture. I find inspiration in all forms of art. And a peaceful walk in the museum must be just what you need to clear your head and be inspired once again. 

ROM

If you are in the mood to see a bit of every corner of the world, Royal Ontario Museum is the place to be. Even though ROM is the largest Canadian museum with over five million pieces of work, the inside plan consists of romantic corridors that lead to halls filled with roman statues and Egyptian murals. 

 Aga Khan Museum

Let me tell stories from the east… YES, Aga Khan Museum is the ultimate place to visit for a fresh take on museums and art. A couple of things there is no shortage of in this museum, are extravagant tiaras and jewels and of course, our favorite, poems on colorful Persian miniature paintings.
